Hachita Bits and Bobs
Hachita Bits and Bobs
Fun things you might like when building your Hachita.
Housing stops for canti or centerpull brakes. Little hatchets for the lovers. Front include a 1/2” clamp. All made in house.
Brake plates for 26er wheels. These will accomadate canti or v brakes for 26 inch wheels. These will include the canti posts themselves. (For 26”wheels and high pivot, use your 27.5/29er plates.) You might consider 170mm or shorter cranks for this setup.
Brass downtube shifter boss covers from Blue Lug. These will be handy for single speeds, 1x or brifter builds. anything that doesn’t use the downtube shifter bosses.
Braze on front derailleur mount clamp. 28.6 for the Small and Medium, 31.8 for the Large and XL. Why didn’t I use a braze on mount in the first place?..that would exclude all clamp on type front derailleurs…and these clamp on adapters make either possible.
If you’ve made it this far…welcome to one of the headiest corners of bike-nerd-dom. The Hachita has a threadless steerer and 34mm threadless headtube…but cjell, i want to use my quill stem. You can! The solve: you order this quill mod. I cut the steerer to your desired length (1/2”, 1”, 1.5”…), i cut threads in the threadless 1 1/8” steerer. I include a 1 1/8” nut (to tension the headset bearings), a custom brazed 1/2” clamp (to lock it down) which act to replace your top cap and stem. The last piece of this puzzle is a shim to change the ID of the steerer from 25.4 to 22.2 for a quill stem. It’s a pretty heady mod…for the die hard quill fanatic.
